Choosing the right van can sometimes be a difficult choice. We have a great range of vans suitable for multiple uses depending on your requirements. Hopefully, our guide will help you choose the right van.
Small Vans – Peugeot Partner or Similar
These vans may be small but offer a generous load space ideal for small loads, tradespeople with tools and small equipment to move.
These small but mighty vans will fit most under-counter kitchen appliances with room to spare. Load volume of approx. 3m2.
Medium Vans SWB – Transit or Similar
The most popular choice of a van which works for all. Great for either private or business use, these all-around go-to vans offer both comfort and large storage space – enough to fit a small flat move-in.
These vans have a load volume of approx. 5.5m2. Enough for approx. four kitchen appliances end to end.
Large Vans LWB – LDV Maxus, Peugeot Boxer or Similar
Are you looking to move large loads? Then look no further than an Lwb van. With a large load area, these are the most popular house mover where more than one run is required.
Some of these vans can carry up to 1450 kgs (almost 1.5 tonnes), so most loads should be ok.
The load volume is an excellent 12m2 approx. and would fit approx. six kitchen appliances end to end.
Luton Body Box Vans
The Luton-style box van has the largest overall loading capacity.
These vans have a mechanical tail lift to help lift items to 500kg into the loading area; load rails are also fitted to enable items to be secured.
A hugely popular van for house moves where large capacity is required and has added space above the cab area (“mum’s attic”, as they’re known in the U.S). Overall load approx. volume 15m2.
Extra Long Vans – Peugeot Boxer ELWB or Similar
These ELWB vans are the largest payload length, with a massive 4m load length from the bulkhead (back of the cab) to the rear doors.
So if you have an extra-long item to load, this is an excellent choice with a low-loading height. The overall load volume is 13.5m2.
Tipper & Drop Side Vans – Citroen Relay or Similar
If you have loose loads such as garden debris and soils, a tipper/drop side van is the only choice to move these loads.
The rear bed can be raised to tip your cargo in the desired location to save manual unloading.
Drop sides are fitted for loading & unloading convenience. Overall loading payload of 1450kgs.
